Reviews From Our Happy Clients

I heartily recommend Catherine Earp and District Speech and Language Therapy. It's difficult enough to find a service for adults, so to find one this excellent was most welcome. Catherine gave clear and thorough explanations. She was very professional while also being personable and relatable. By following her instructions I made terrific progress after just a few weeks. Scheduling sessions was fast and easy.

I’ve been taking my speech delayed son to Kate at District Speech and Language Therapy for the past year. He has made tremendous progress and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Kate does a great job keeping him engaged and encouraging him to succeed. My son looks forward to going to see “Ms. Kate.”The office manager Katie has also been great to work with for all scheduling and billing needs.I highly recommend District Speech.

Cannot say enough good things about Kate, who was my daughter’s speech therapist for 9 months. She started her therapy with Kate at the age of 2 with only a few words (expressive speech delay), and was a pandemic tot with little social interaction. Within only a few months, she was speaking in 2-3 word sentences and was a completely different child because she was no longer frustrated about her inability to communicate effectively. Kate truly loves her job and goes above and beyond for the families she works with. We looked forward to our sessions with her and it was bittersweet when it was time for her to "graduate" from speech therapy.

Cannot say enough good things about Ms. Cat (Catherine Earl) who is my daughter Lincoln’s Speech therapist for the past 19 months. Lincoln started her therapy with Ms. Cat when she was 4 years old with a lot of limitations in expressing herself effectively (expressive speech delay), understanding social cues amongst her peers, sitting through a book or “ game” and/or paying attention. We have seen a great deal of improvement since her therapy started. Lincoln is now taking in full sentences, asking questions and using less scripted language in her daily speech. We are so thankful for her.Ms. Cat has help us teach and encourage Lincoln throughout our this journey. Ms. Cat is firm and kind. She has a lot of patients and is amazing at keeping Lincoln engage throughout their virtual sessions. In their sessions with she is respectful, consistent, and patient. Lincoln is alway looking forward to her therapy sessions with Ms. Cat!

My 4 year old son has been going to District Speech for a year now, receiving services from Rachel. We knew early on that that he had a speech delay, but because it was pandemic and we did not want to do an in-person session, we delayed his diagnosis and therapy which made it even worse. By worse I mean, by the time he turned 3, he only said two words and mostly communicated by babbling and making sounds. We started seeing Rachel in February 2022 and I was not prepared for the magic Rachel was going to do with his speech. He started saying his brother’s name within a week. This is important to note, because I have tried to help say his brother’s name for like a year. A few months later, with just twice a week therapy, he started to speak in short sentences, and now a year later he speaks very well. Hard to imagine where we were a year ago.In addition, this year, my older son (nine years old), was also diagnosed with speech issue that had affected his reading and comprehension skills. The issue had stayed under the radar until his new school detected and recommended, he gets evaluated. My first thought was to seek another therapist because I was not sure if Rachel was also equipped to work with school aged kids. But because she has done such a good job with my younger son, I decided to give it a try. When I read the evaluation report she prepared, I knew I made the right choice again. Everything she identified was spot on with my child’s phonemic awareness. The report included many words and how he sounds them (incorrect), and I kept agreeing with the whole list and couldn’t believe that I never really paid attention or recognize those as something much deeper. I just thought that is how he pronounces them and sometimes correct him and move on. Nonetheless, he has been seeing Rachel for over a month now, and really enjoys the session. Please do not hesitate to give District’s Speech a try whether it is Rachel or other therapist you get assigned to, as I have heard great reviews from other parents I came across to while visiting the office.

My daughter has been working with Miss Rachel for the past 6 weeks and we have found the process to be very empowering. The initial evaluation session determined that our daughter's clarity of articulation and voicing was delayed. This calmed our concerns but beyond that, the one-on-one sessions with Rachel have encouraged our 3.5 year old to be more focused on her clarity. I feel like much of the work, quite rightly has been on educating myself on how to properly model, but also the attention my daughter receives in these sessions have positively enforced the importance of clear speech to her without any shamming. While her speech development likely would have righted itself over time, we are set to move overseas where she would not be amongst English native speakers, so we felt time was of the essence to establish clear speech before any confusion might set it. I should also say that the Admin at District Speech is top notch and with our insurance, the 25 dollars a week we pay for a weekly session is a solid investment. Much obliged.

Our son has an autism diagnosis and has been working with Rachel for almost a year. He gets excited when we say we're going to see Rachel and always has a good time during his sessions. Recently, we switched insurance and she is working with us through the appeals process to continue coverage for his services. When she described to me the appeals letter she was planning to write it became clear she's not only a good SLP but she is articulate and savvy when it comes to dealing with insurance. Our son has made great strides since seeing Rachel and we're looking forward to continuing working with her.

First and foremost, this review is well overdue! My 6 year old son who has a stuttering disorder has been receiving excellent services from Lee for over a year now. Lee is patient, caring, skilled, communicative, fun and provides consistent quality services to my son. I think what I love most about Lee is how he has equipped and empowered my son with knowledge and facts regarding stuttering. Miles is super confident because of Lee and has made great progress. I think it's amazing that Lee is able to attain these results VIRTUALLY with 5 now 6 year old.

As a transwoman, I was consistently misgendered over the phone, which is dysphoria-producing and demoralizing. I contacted District Speech for help and they referred me to Sophie as my vocal coach/therapist. It took only a handful of voice sessions with Sophie to equip me with the tools and ability to find the voice that matched not only my gender, but reflected how I see myself. Sophie is practical and focused and the exercises and tips/techniques she shared were nothing less than transformative. Thank you Sophie for helping me "find my voice!"

Catherine is amazing, I highly recommend!!!I am a professional voice user, and worked for several months with Catherine to address an injury. She gave me effective exercises to use, and solid lifestyle suggestions that have really helped. On top of it, she is a delight. The road to healing hasn't been an easy one, and I am so grateful for her knowledge and support.

I would really recommend Sophie Edwards at district speech for anyone trying to feminize their voice. She was a massive help to me and after a few sessions I had results that I was very happy with. She gave me exercises that really helped with my goals for my voice and gave me feedback that made it much easier to learn. I had tried other resources but having someone giving me feedback on what I was doing right and wrong made a huge difference.

My 3 year old son started at District Speech about 18 months ago to address his language delay. Both of the therapists he worked with, first Anna Carr and then Lee Morra, were excellent. Once he started catching up on language, Lee began addressing his speech delay. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me great tips and tools to practice with my son at home. My son absolutely loved going to every biweekly session he had with both Anna and Lee, and they both made it a very play-based approach. I was so proud and grateful when his latest assessment showed that he is now hitting all his age appropriate milestones for both speech and language! I also want to call out Katie Nelson, the Operations Manager, who does an amazing job managing all the billing and scheduling. She was always extremely helpful and responsive to all my billing questions and was very responsive and detail-oriented. Thank you District Speech!

I worked with Lee Morra to help with my fluency and mumbling. Lee was very clear in explaining the kind of improvements I could expect and where we could make the most improvements. With my clarity, I started to see meaningful improvement after the first few sessions, and major improvements by the end of therapy. The most important skills were learning how to properly emphasize sentences, something I previously gave almost no thought to, and recognizing when I was mumbling and how to break out of it. I've had several people tell me they could tell the difference.Lee also helped me work on my fluency. Since I have a working memory deficiency, I knew it would never be perfect, but I was able to make some pretty big strides. I especially wanted to make progress with speaking in work situations. Using a variety of techniques, I was able to dramatically improve my disfluencies, especially mazes. I've had a significant improvement in how my work meetings go and I feel more confident when speaking.I would highly recommend Lee Morra if you're looking for a SLP!

Lee Morra at District Speech and Language is a wonderful and effective speech therapist. He gave me the tools, guidance, and encouragement to speak better. Lee taught me speech exercises so I can practice saying and using words and phrases I commonly use. He taught me techniques to organize my thoughts and talking points for meetings and conversations. He taught me that even though I have a cognitive impairment and problems with memory loss, I can speak coherently.Once I started using these techniques, I started getting better results in meetings, with customer service, and at appointments! The speech improvements I have made using the tools and techniques Lee gave me have given me the confidence to start and join conversations again! Now, I am not as worried about forgetting what I am talking about mid-sentence as I was before speech therapy. The real proof of speech progress came when my primary care physician told me I was more organized, more to the point, and better spoken than I have been in almost a year. I replied "speech therapy!" My doctor and I are happy I have access to resources such as District Speech and Language and Lee to help me. Thank you , Lee!

Our 8 year old daughter was very behind on her ability to speak clearly. It had gotten to the point where it was getting in the way of her academic progress - making her less likely to speak up in class, and very reticent to write things out because of the misspellings associated with her pronunciation. District Speech and Language Therapy - and Ms. Catherine in particular - were AMAZING. It turned our daughter's lessons effectively into play-time for her, which made sure she showed up and actively engaged each week. And that was part of an overall plan for her progress that was solid. That has resulted in tremendous progress in mere months, to the point where she is an avid reader/writer now and is now close to her peers on her ability to enunciate words.I can't give this place a strong enough recommendation. Sound overall strategies for success and incredibly effective tactics with the kids at the lesson-by-lesson level. Its totally turned things around for us in the best way possible!

We waited almost 12 months on the waitlist at District Speech for our little one who showed early challenges with both receptive and expressive skills. Our expectations were undoubtedly heightened by the fact that we felt our little one fell further behind due to the pandemic. From the onset when we met Tim Flynn, we quickly noticed his passion + dedication + thoughtfulness. Our little one instantly connected with Tim and, although we did not expect miracles, we have seen notable & meaningful improvements in not just expressive & receptive skills, but also overall confidence & sociability. In today’s world, the ability to articulate and communicate effectively is more important than ever. We believe that Tim and District Speech have been critical partners for our family in carving out a better future; one that he may not be able to control fully, but one in which, he can freely & clearly express his intentions and make a change for the better. Kudos to Tim for his endless patience and unbounded enthusiasm for helping kids like ours - we are forever grateful.

I've long dealt with stuttering, but never received therapy as a child or adult. Once I finally sought out assistance from District Speech and Language Therapy, Tim took a methodical approach to educate me, and also help me understand my challenges and how to properly address them in a healthy way. I'm still in therapy and I have seen positive results in my confidence and self esteem.

My experience here was great! I worked remotely with Sophie Edwards, and she was a great teacher! I was seeking voice feminization, and I was very comfortable and happy during our lessons. Additionally, she sent home extensive emails for my out-of-session work, which was immensely helpful. Absolutely recommend coming here for voice training!!

My husband Nathaniel and I were seeking speech therapy for our son who was recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder amongst other diagnoses. I spent a lot of time Googling places that have Speech Therapy in the DMV and researching them. My search kept bringing me back to District Speech and Language Therapy. The message I left on the main voicemail was returned promptly, and the woman on the other line helping me was very kind and considerate. She answered all of my questions. I was eager to get my son care, and was able to schedule an evaluation with Catherine. On the day of the evaluation, Catherine greeted us warmly in the waiting area of the office, and I connected with her warm personality immediately. Even more important, my son seemed to connect with her. He was very smiley, and very interested in her red hair. I think it reminds him of one of the characters on the kid’s show; The Wiggles! During the evaluation, my husband and I were able to meet Jennifer as well, and we were so impressed by the plethora of information and advice they had for us. Francis enjoyed the assortment of activities they had available for him. We started Speech Therapy sessions with Catherine as soon as possible, and our son has been working with her for a few months now. We have seen great improvement with Francis’s speech, and also his overall social skills. Catherine is intelligent, fun, and always has a lot of good advice for us. We love working with her. Francis looks forward to his sessions with her—-he is happy to see someone other than his parents during the pandemic :) Catherine always has interesting and fun ways of doing things to help our son reach his potential, and we will always be thankful!!!

We've been very happy with the speech therapy my 6-year old has been receiving from Marissa! His first appointment was in-person, mostly so they could meet. For logistical purposes, we decided to try virtual and it's been great! She matches his energy and keeps him engaged, they play games together. Also, they don't need to wear masks for the virtual option - helpful for speech. Lastly, they accept my insurance!

Lee at District Speech Has been extremely helpful with me ever since I started speech therapy 3-4months ago. As a 21 year old when I first started I felt uncomfortable about my stutter and never really brought it up around friends and family. But since working with Lee I’ve made great progress with being more open with my stutter and the techniques he uses are great as well. Highly recommend 🤩

My experience with Catherine Earp after a month has been transformational. As a college and bilingual student; English, reading comprehension, and memory retention during a discussion are things I struggle with. But during a month of therapy with Catherine I’ve noticed a change on how I can retain information more when someone is speaking to me. I am also beginning to understand hard text more by being able to retain the most important points.-Erika

My 6 year old son has been working with both Jen and Lee, and the experience has been positive, fun, and rewarding. Both Jen and Lee are so patient with my child- taking time to bond with him on a personal level, and being on top of his progress/ practice/ homework/ evaluations. They both demonstrate knowledge, professionalism and kindness toward a child in need and made him feel it's "cool" to be working on articulations, instead of working on a shortcoming. As a parent, I cannot praise more about the professionals we have been working with, and we are very happy to see the tremendous progress after just a year of therapy. We are lucky to have met Jen and Lee!

My son is 18 and a mumbler - he also has an accent (he's a native Spanish speaker). He is frustrated that teachers, friends, etc. are always asking him to repeat himself. With college on the horizon, we decided it was time to try speech therapy. We could not be happier with Lee Morra at District Speech and Language Therapy. Lee is an amazing speech therapist - he is so good and so passionate about helping my son speak more clearly. My son enjoys his sessions and is actively practicing what he learns with Lee each week. Lee has been awesome at dealing with schedule changes and mistakes on our end - and we are now doing virtual sessions which makes meeting up with Lee even easier. Lee and the admin team helped us deal with insurance issues too. I highly recommend District Speech and especially Lee Morra.

District Speech was recommended by our pediatrician and has been wonderful!Jennifer was responsive, thoughtful and creatively engaged with our child during both in person and virtual sessions. Jennifer is a professional but at the same time feels like someone that we have known for a while. She is very friendly and she makes one feel at home. She pays attention to details when evaluating the client and she gives the best recommendations that will enable you as the parent to help your child achieve their goals. Even though our child is not being seen at her office at this time, she was able to refer us to one of the best therapy centers that will help our child’s speech. I’l definitely recommend her and her staff for the excellent services that anyone’s child/children deserve.

The reviews you read about District Speech are true. I am sharing my experience because you hope that when you seek out a provider, your experience will be the same as those you read about if not better. Well, I can guarantee you this will also be your experience when you chose District Speech. My son is now 11. I first noticed his "R's" sounded like "W's" and vice versa around the age of 3. I was told that he would grow out of it by age 9 but he had not. After years of patiently watching and listening to this rhotacism and even bringing it to the attention of a few professionals outside of District Speech, I decided to pursue speech therapy to correct what my son was now able to hear himself. Thankfully, I found District Speech.Lee Morra has been outstanding! He immediately connected with my son in a way that keeps him interested and engaged in his therapy. My son walks away feeling confident and excited about his progress after each session and his interaction makes him want to perform his exercises outside of therapy. My son's speech has greatly improved in a short period of time and I attribute that to Lee's technique, passion for his profession, and his ability to make learning enjoyable.I know our journeys are all different, and that we want the best for ourselves and children. Some challenges are more complex than others. So when you pursue therapeutic intervention, you want to select the best --- therapists who will work their hardest to help. District Speech is that choice.

I found District Speech in February on Google after researching numerous providers in the DC Metro Area. They were the only ones I found to actually use insurance so I wouldn’t have to deal with the whole reimbursement process. The owner, Jennifer, is amazing. She has gone above and beyond for my daughter by finding a pathologist licensed for MD, helping me navigate the IEP process with the school system as my advocate and linking me to a psychologist for my daughter’s Psychoeducational evaluation. My daughter was originally working with Angela but due to licensing she had to switch therapists. I honestly don’t believe you can go wrong working with anyone on Jen’s team. I’m forever grateful for them helping me and my daughter in this trying time.

We're so grateful for District Speech! Our toddler has a global developmental delay and we began speech therapy for her in July 2020. At that point, we knew via an ABR test that our daughter M could hear (after a rough first year of life with constant ear infections and massive fluid build-up) but she was only just beginning to make sounds (1.5 years). Our first eight sessions with Jen, our daughter did not make a sound. !! However, Jennifer was amazing, patient, and kind and so skilled at helping M learn how to sign (we started hand-over-hand signing) and taught me about "total communication" - M really mastered "please" "more" "thank you" "help" and more through this method (well before making a peep). A big part of pediatric therapy is equipping the parent, and Jen has graciously offered suggestions and helpful tips along the way that has enabled me to continually work at home with M in ways I did not know or understand before (simplifying my speech, repetition of key words, hand over hand signing help, etc). She also showed me cool tools we were able to get for our daughter to help her strengthen her muscles and tone in her mouth. I am grateful for the ways Jen was also flexible whether we were doing Zoom or in-person (which was changeable due to childcare for my other children).M has really taken off in speech, in a way her Dad and I certainly did not expect considering she began speech silently! Less than a year later, M is at age level (spontaneous two word phrases!) and growing in her vocabulary every day. I find myself daily using the tools and methods Jen used with M and taught me. We are on monthly check-ins and I am so grateful we brought her to District Speech!

I can not say enough great things about my experience with District Speech and by therapist, Lee Morra.I am dealing with vocal issues connected to muscle tension dysphonia. When I first called the office I was so impressed with the care and kindness shown to me by the front desk, particularly by Grace. They are great communicators and very patient. My evaluation with Lee was very smooth and he made me feel comfortable immediately. I appreciated that he asked me to get a second opinion on my health issues before jumping into treating me. Since then we have met once a week and he has helped me make great growth in a short time period. Lee explains things to me in ways that I can understand academically but also simply enough that I am not in over my head. This fine balance is difficult for anyone to do, so I appreciate it. He is kind and patient and a great cheerleader for his patients!I would 100% recommend District Speech and Language Therapy to anyone and wish everyone else luck on their speech/language journey!

It has been an amazing experience working with District Speech. I've lived with a stutter since I was 4 years old and saw a specialist a little bit in my elementary school years. But I never fully addressed it in my life till I reached my 40's. I looked for help and came upon District Speech and gave it a shot. From the start my speech therapist Jen was extremely understanding, compassionate, informative, skilled, and professional. She immediately identified not only the triggers of my stuttering, but also the mental and emotional components that surround how I have lived with my stuttering. It's been very powerful stuff for me.She's patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable which is pretty much everything you could want in a Speech Pathologist.Choosing District Speech has been the best thing I could have ever done to help me with my stuttering.

Anna has seen our son at another practice in this area for three years and we are so thrilled to be seeing her at District Speech! Anna is an excellent therapist, efficient, effective and very understanding. I've always been very impressed by her ability to break down speech problems into their component parts (social, sentence planning, pronunciation, behavioral, etc). Our son has always progressed faster with her than with the other therapists he sees and she's great at providing realistic "homework" for us to do with him independently.District Speech also has extremely excellent front office staff. They've been proactive and friendly every step of the way. They even caught a billing issue for us that had been happening at all our pediatric practices, related to a COVID specific insurance coverage practice. They refunded me proactively and even took the time to tell me what to say to our PT and other specialists so I could easily get refunds across the board. I was so impressed! I really can't say enough about how wonderful it is to work with a front office team that is so caring and organized. It's a wonderful change of pace from most practices.

My son started speech therapy with Jen last summer. He was 2.5 years old at the time. He spoke around 15-20 words prior to starting his therapy, had a short attention span and poor communication skills. Fast forward to 6 months later and he is able to use 2-3 word sentences, ask many questions, express his needs, name all the colors, and communicate appropriately. I am so thankful to Jen and district speech for being a huge part of my son’s progress and development. He still has a long road ahead but with the right support we are getting there.

We came to District Speech after my 4-year-old son's nursery school teacher flagged that he had some articulation issues. My son made amazing strides with Lee Morra and "graduated" from speech therapy after less than a year of working with him. I cannot speak highly enough of District Speech! We reached out to Jen and Lee earlier this year to share our concerns regarding our then 3 year old's speech development. Jen was amazing at explaining the process, calming our fears and concerns, and conducting the initial assessment in collaboration with Lee Morra. Since then, Lee has been such a god send to our family! He meets with our son virtually, even as COVID has lingered on, and has been so adaptive and creative with coming up different approaches to working with our son. He makes it fun, while ensuring core developmental skills and I've seen such a transformation in my son's pronunciation of words, and conversation development. With the pre-school crowd being among the most impacted by close closures, our weekly sessions with Lee have also provided a great mechanism for basic academic enrichment as well. More than anything, our mostly introverted favorite little guy, asks when he'll talk to Mr. Lee next and so very much looks forward to working on their drills and activities. I am such a fan of this practice and the professionals who call this their work home!

My son’s speech therapist Lee was great! His personality was what was most impressive. His patience with my son was greatly appreciated and made for a comfortable atmosphere for my son to thrive. In the midst of a pandemic Lee didn’t miss a beat and conducted sessions via Zoom. My son just ended his sessions with Lee, free of a speech impediment. Thanks Lee!!

I looked forward to working with Lee every week. He always had a smile and made my experience very enjoyable. Lee helped improve my speech a great amount. He taught me methods that I practice everyday to help with my stutter. Not only has lee helped improve my speech, but he has also made me feel much more confident speaking in social setting. I can’t thank him enough for his teachings!

My experience with District Speech has been excellent. As an adult who stutters and is taking speech therapy for the first time, I didn't really know what to expect when I started; I just knew I needed to address my stuttering. Rachel has been absolutely amazing. She is encouraging, empathic and compassionate; she really has a true understanding of the physical and emotional struggles many adults who stutter face. I started sessions in February, 2020 so I only had a few sessions before we had to start teletherapy. I feel that the teletherapy sessins have been as productive and useful as being in person. The homework she suggests is useful and appropriate. She has also been very understanding when it has taken me longer to do certain activities (such as disclosing).I have been very pleased with my experience. When it was recently discovered that my insurance was paying the whole cost of the sessions during COVID, the staff responded quickly and even called my insurance; they issued the refunds of my co-pays right away.I definitely recommend District Speech.

We started our toddler slightly before age 3 doing speech therapy with Lee, and have been with the practice for six months. It's been excellent. Lee is energetic, patient, enthusiastic, and seems to always have a plan as well as a backup to deal with the fickleness of a toddler's attention. Even in teletherapy the last few months, something I did not expect to work, Lee has found ways to keep things engaged and get actual progress. The practice overall has been simple to work with, and conveniently located (back when people went places in person).

Lee Mora with District Speech is awesome! Our son (age 5) has been working with Lee for about 6 months and he has seen great improvement. Even transitioning to zoom appointments (thanks COVID) Lee has been able to keep his attention - no small achievement even under normal circumstances.

As an adult who has struggled with speech challenges since elementary school, I was anxious about attending speech therapy. After meeting Lee for the first time, I knew I made the right decision. Lee's patience, content knowledge and ability to create a nonjudgemental environment has helped me move beyond my initial hesitation. During our sessions, I learn new skills while building my confidence as a speaker. After each session, Lee always shares activities for me to review, which has helped a great deal. I am happy for the opportunity to work with Lee and I highly recommend him!

Angela has been working with our toddler for almost a year now for his speech delay. We have seen solid improvement in his speech during this time. Jen and her team are flexible, reliable, available, and always professional. Additionally, our therapist, Angela, always gives us great feedback from the session, provides us with tips, and assigns us extra work we can do at home to reinforce his learning. We and our son alway look forward to our speech therapy sessions—highly recommend!

As a young professional in DC who has struggled with speech since middle school, I was hesitant to try speech therapy and had minimal expectations when I first started. After my first session with Lee I knew I had that all completely wrong. Not only is Lee great at what he does, but he takes the time to develop a personal connection with you and he quickly gains your trust. He helped me let my guard down that was impeding my progress and make the honest changes in my mind set that were crucial to me improving my speech. I am very grateful that I took the chance to finally seek help, and even more grateful that I have Lee to help me on this journey to improve my speech.

COVID-19 has changed the world that we live in but I didn’t want that to be the reason for my son’s speech regression. Schools may be closed BUT Ms. Branchini went out of her way to schedule time for us to meet with Mr. Morra this week for my son Dominic’s evaluation. I just wanted to thank you for choosing such a dedicating and professional speech and language therapist to work with Dominic. Although Dominic was a bit silly (rolling around, playing with objects, etc.) Mr. Morra was supported, gently redirected Dominic when he provided in incorrect answer and/or if he had difficulty hearing Dominic's response. Mr. Morra noted that in the future we may be able to play a "game" (which I am sure will help Dominic practice sounds) called Hangman. As soon as we got off of our call with Mr. Morra Dominic hopped on YouTube to learn more about Hangman :) Dominic has been talking about meeting "Mr. Lee" and announced to his grandmother and step-father that "Mr. Lee is super cool." As you know this is HUGE! I am thrilled with the level of service your company provides and we are very excited to meet with him in the coming weeks.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Jen Branchini. Our pediatrician recommended that we work with her, after my then 7-year-old son had a sudden onset of stuttering. We are so happy we did. She is amazingly creative and empathic, and both we and my son have gotten so much out of working with her.

We are very fortunate to have Ms. Keila and Mr. Morra as our son's speech therapists for over six months now. His progress is great and he always enjoys the sessions with with both speech therapists.

Lee's warm demeanor and upbeat disposition immediately disarmed and engaged our 4 year old son. Throughout the speech consultation, our son thought he was just playing a fun game as Lee expertly evaluated him. After the consultation, Lee did not try to oversell us, by recommending unnecessary sessions simply because our insurance would cover them. We would recommend Lee Morra and District Speech to anyone!

My child attends speech therapy with Lee. He is great!!! My son loves going to speech each week. At the end of each session, he always takes time to tell me how he did and give/explain activities to do at home which I appreciate! We have seen good progress in a short period of time. Highly recommend! They also take BCBS which is a plus too :)

We were very fortunate and blessed to have Mr. Morra as our son's speech therapist. Within the first three months, we saw a boost of confidence in our son's attempt to make the letter sounds. Now our son can say the words with clarity and wants to expand his vocabulary. He always enjoyed his speech therapy sessions and never had a mention of a dull moment.

We worked with Jen for about 18 months, starting just before my son turned 2, and my son just loved seeing her each week. She went out of her way to improve his speech, providing additional resources and suggestions at each session. Mostly though, her enthusiasm and way with kids really helped us look forward to the sessions and we saw great improvement.

Our son 4 year old son had a very positive experience working with Lee, and made strides with his speech pronunciation. This helped him to gain confidence in his communication, which made him a happier boy! Several months later, my son still talks about going to Lee's office! Lee was patient, kind, and best of all, he made it fun! Highly recommend.

Jennifer Branchini has worked with my son over the past six years. She is flexible and adaptable to her approach and focus of therapy based upon my son's needs as he has grown and developed over time. She has been an integral part of my son's support system by keeping me informed of my son's goals and progress, as well as providing expert opinions and recommendations to those also helping to support my son both in and out of school. She has even referred us to other service providers when she has recognized a need outside of the scope of speech and language therapy. Jen is genuinely invested in my son's success and for that, I am sincerely grateful to have her on our team.

Cannot say enough good things about my son's experience with District Speech, especially both Lee and Jennifer. After sessions, I would notice my son utilizing the skills he had picked-up to initate conversations with passengers on the Metro. Moreover, Lee and Jennifer have been actively engaged in lending their expertise to help develop my son's IEP and ensure adequate speech/language objectives and goals are put in place to meet his needs. I would recommend District Speech to looking for Speech and Language Therapy.

My six year old has been working with Lee for just a couple of months, but we have already noticed a substantial improvement! We've been impressed not only by Lee's ability to identify our child's specific speech issue, but also to keep trying different techniques to help her master the correct sounds. He is a joy to work with and put my daughter at ease immediately - and she looks forward to their weekly sessions. The whole experience has been nothing but positive, and we would highly recommend District Speech without reservation.

I have worked with Jen over the past five years as both a teacher and now a parent. Quite simply, Jen and her practice are top-notch. Jen is not only an expert SLP, she is an expert on kids. She just gets them! She understands the power of building relationships and works with children in such an approachable and fun way, they simply adore her and enjoy working with her on meeting their speech/language goals. Behind the scenes, Jen remains committed to the children she works with, regularly going above and beyond to advocate, secure additional resources, and check-in with parents. Fast forward a few years and now I've had the pleasure of working with Jen as a parent. She completed thorough evaluations on both of my sons (the older for proper sound production, the younger to evaluate the impact of a facial cleft on his speech). My boys are timid and introverted, but they immediately warmed up to her and played through their evaluations. We are at ease knowing that we have Jen on our team, and we would highly recommend her or any of the therapists at District Speech.

I worked with Lee over the course of four months. I really appreciated his ability to tailor each session to my specific needs. Lee's thorough knowledge was helpful in explaining specific and intricate details in simple terms. Through his help I was able to learn to talk to correctly and fluently without crutches. I like to think of it through the analogy, he taught me how to walk as opposed to giving me a wheelchair.

I met Ms. Branchini while working as a contracted psychologist for a Tier 1 charter school in Washington DC. I had the opportunity to observe her conducting speech therapy with students, consulting with teachers and other paraprofessionals, and reviewing assessment results in meetings. I was incredibly impressed with her ability to connect with the students (of various ages) and use therapeutic strategies that were both effective and engaging. The children always enjoyed working with "Miss Jenn". In meetings, Ms. Branchini was able to express her expertise of speech language weaknesses and disorders, and treatment in a manner that was understandable and relatable. Her speech-language evaluation reports were thorough and included helpful and relevant recommendations. I highly recommend Ms. Branchini for speech therapy services, speech-language evaluations, and for consultation with other paraprofessionals and schools.

I’ve been working with Angela at District Speech for about 4 weeks now. When I started speech therapy for my son I didn’t know what to expect we had other concerns around his development and behaviors but I knew for sure he needed speech therapy. After our initial appt. I expressed all my concerns with Angela and she was not only consoling but extremely helpful and supportive, even providing other options and leads for additional resources. My son is already making progress with his speech, Angela has been nothing short of amazing and she truly cares and it shows in the lengths she goes to really help her patients and their families. The District Speech team Angela and Jen, have been beyond supportive and surpassed any expectations.

My 4 year old son has been benefiting so much from his sessions with his SLP Angela at District Speech. His articulation, confidence and overall behavior have improved greatly. He looks forward to his weekly visits with Angela, and loves that he has a special friend to play new games with. What he has been able to achieve with Angela has blown us away. We would recommend District Speech, and Ms. Angela in particular, to anyone in need of Speech Language Therapy! Thank you, Ms. Angela for all you do for our boy!

Great team of excellent and dedicated professionals who use innovative techniques to execute highly effective results! My son was diagnosed with mild ASD at three years old and as a young mother in her twenties, I was clueless as to what I should do. With Jen’s support I learned how to implement strategies at home to motivate vocalization and get my child to start communicating.

Jen Branchini has been a colleague for many years, and she is the only SLP therapist that I trust. As a neuropsychologist, I frequently need to consult with a speech therapist regarding patient matters. Beyond being highly knowledgeable and intelligent, Jen is exceptionally kind and patient, and she always goes above and beyond to understand my patients’ needs and how best to help. She makes feasible recommendations for remediation that are also highly effective. I would highly recommend her to my patients and family/friends alike!
