We have been a client of Kate Stangel for over 1 year. Our daughters speech has improved by leaps and bounds. Additionally, as a 4 year old, it is sometimes difficult to concentrate as you can imagine, but Kate makes it so fun and interesting and she has so much patience and warmth. We adore her and we are so happy we found her at district speech.

Cannot say enough good things about Ms. Cat (Catherine Earl) who is my daughter Lincoln’s Speech therapist for the past 19 months. Lincoln started her therapy with Ms. Cat when she was 4 years old with a lot of limitations in expressing herself effectively (expressive speech delay), understanding social cues amongst her peers, sitting through a book or “ game” and/or paying attention. We have seen a great deal of improvement since her therapy started. Lincoln is now taking in full sentences, asking questions and using less scripted language in her daily speech. We are so thankful for her.Ms. Cat has help us teach and encourage Lincoln throughout our this journey. Ms. Cat is firm and kind. She has a lot of patients and is amazing at keeping Lincoln engage throughout their virtual sessions. In their sessions with she is respectful, consistent, and patient. My daughter has been working with Miss Rachel for the past 6 weeks and we have found the process to be very empowering. The initial evaluation session determined that our daughter's clarity of articulation and voicing was delayed. This calmed our concerns but beyond that, the one-on-one sessions with Rachel have encouraged our 3.5 year old to be more focused on her clarity. I feel like much of the work, quite rightly has been on educating myself on how to properly model, but also the attention my daughter receives in these sessions have positively enforced the importance of clear speech to her without any shamming. While her speech development likely would have righted itself over time, we are set to move overseas where she would not be amongst English native speakers, so we felt time was of the essence to establish clear speech before any confusion might set it. I should also say that the Admin at District Speech is top notch and with our insurance, the 25 dollars a week we pay for a weekly session is a solid investment. Much obliged.

My 4 year old son has been going to District Speech for a year now, receiving services from Rachel. We knew early on that that he had a speech delay, but because it was pandemic and we did not want to do an in-person session, we delayed his diagnosis and therapy which made it even worse. By worse I mean, by the time he turned 3, he only said two words and mostly communicated by babbling and making sounds. We started seeing Rachel in February 2022 and I was not prepared for the magic Rachel was going to do with his speech. He started saying his brother’s name within a week. This is important to note, because I have tried to help say his brother’s name for like a year. A few months later, with just twice a week therapy, he started to speak in short sentences, and now a year later he speaks very well. Hard to imagine where we were a year ago.In addition, this year, my older son (nine years old), was also diagnosed with speech issue that had affected his reading and comprehension skills. The issue had stayed under the radar until his new school detected and recommended, he gets evaluated. My first thought was to seek another therapist because I was not sure if Rachel was also equipped to work with school aged kids. But because she has done such a good job with my younger son, I decided to give it a try. When I read the evaluation report she prepared, I knew I made the right choice again. Everything she identified was spot on with my child’s phonemic awareness. The report included many words and how he sounds them (incorrect), and I kept agreeing with the whole list and couldn’t believe that I never really paid attention or recognize those as something much deeper. I just thought that is how he pronounces them and sometimes correct him and move on. Nonetheless, he has been seeing Rachel for over a month now, and really enjoys the session.Please do not hesitate to give District’s Speech a try whether it is Rachel or other therapist you get assigned to, as I have heard great reviews from other parents I came across to while visiting the office.

I worked with Lee Morra to help with my fluency and mumbling. Lee was very clear in explaining the kind of improvements I could expect and where we could make the most improvements.With my clarity, I started to see meaningful improvement after the first few sessions, and major improvements by the end of therapy. The most important skills were learning how to properly emphasize sentences, something I previously gave almost no thought to, and recognizing when I was mumbling and how to break out of it. I've had several people tell me they could tell the difference.Lee also helped me work on my fluency. Since I have a working memory deficiency, I knew it would never be perfect, but I was able to make some pretty big strides. I especially wanted to make progress with speaking in work situations. Using a variety of techniques, I was able to dramatically improve my disfluencies, especially mazes. I've had a significant improvement in how my work meetings go and I feel more confident when speaking.I would highly recommend Lee Morra if you're looking for a SLP!

First and foremost, this review is well overdue! My 6 year old son who has a stuttering disorder has been receiving excellent services from Lee for over a year now. Lee is patient, caring, skilled, communicative, fun and provides consistent quality services to my son. I think what I love most about Lee is how he has equipped and empowered my son with knowledge and facts regarding stuttering. Miles is super confident because of Lee and has made great progress. I think it's amazing that Lee is able to attain these results VIRTUALLY with 5 now 6 year old.

It took some time to find the right fit for our child, but Kate is definitely it. She makes therapy fun and gives detailed reports and suggestions about our child's progress. My kid literally says "it's Monday, that means speech therapy... YAY"! And our child's speech is improving weekly. She has a fun sense of humor and engages wonderfully. Jen Branchini is an outstanding speech therapist. I cannot say enough good things about her. She has been working with my son with moderate-to-severe speech apraxia for 2 years. He has made amazing progress during that time thanks to Jen’s care, hard work, and creativity. She’s thoughtful, educated and resourceful. Whenever we hit a road block, Jen starts problem solving and using all resources available to her to continue making forward progress. She always goes above and beyond to help our son. She texts and emails me regularly with feedback, ideas and resources for our family.

I know that she is one of his greatest supporters and is always celebrating his progress along with us. My son adores her. It is not often that you find someone with such a big heart that also has remarkable professional expertise and an extraordinary work ethic. Jen is a special person. I don’t know what we would do without her.

Cortney Lhota is an exceptional speech/language therapist. She has been providing speech/language services to my daughter who has a very rare genetic condition called Williams syndrome. Cortney took her time to review all research provided to ensure her technique and delivery of treatment met the needs of my daughter. My daughter enjoys working with Cortney and looks forward to every session. I truly love seeing how excited my daughter gets in anticipation for her therapy sessions.

Cortney’s recommendations provided after each session are always spot on. Cortney really knows our daughter better than many therapists she’s worked closely with, in all areas of her therapy. This is having a huge impact in the level of progress she has made with Cortney. It makes a world of a difference when a therapist truly “knows” your daughter, how to tap into her abilities and never limiting her potential or what she is truly capable of accomplishing. I found Jen on Yelp and started working with her associate, Angela, within a few days of connecting with them both. I never noticed anything off with my child’s speech, but after we started working with Angela, noticed a difference right away. After only a couple of sessions, the difference became more pronounced to me because her articulation was shifting dramatically for the better.

Angela has a wonderfully accessible and welcoming teaching style, and made my child feel safe and comfortable. Couple this with fun and engaging games that are used as lessons and you’ve got the perfect teaching/learning environment for success. We receive written assessments almost immediately following the end of each lesson, and the invoice at the start of each month. And with home visits, we couldn’t be happier!

She has gone above and beyond to support my son with his progress, including texting us to remind him to do his speech homework and attending doctor’s appointments with us. She has training and experience working with children who have had palate surgery.

My elementary school aged son attended speech therapy with Cortney Lhota for a year. During that time I saw my son’s use of speech and expressive language skyrocket. He enjoyed going to see Ms. Cortney, and she totally understood and dealt with his stalling, zoning out, and distracting behaviors. Cortney was gentle, yet firm, and she knew when to move on to something else.

If one approach did not take, she was creative and resourceful and tried a different approach. Cortney made my son feel special and improved his confidence greatly. In addition to her work with my son, Cortney was absolutely terrific in communicating how to carryover therapy strategies. She also gave me all the tools to work with him at home. My son was initially diagnosed with a nine month developmental delay at 2 years old. When he was 3, he was diagnosed with mild to moderate ASD and he has been undergoing speech therapy with Jen Branchini for the last two years. The qualities that make her stand out from other therapists are her patience, her creativity and her perseverance. She will not give up easily if your child is not making the progress that is typically expected.

Her kind and innovative approach to learning drew my son to her instantly. He does not respond or comply with just anybody. Aside from that, she is adamant about keeping parents informed of skills and techniques that need to be practiced at home to help your child succeed. She is very good about following up and has taught me that parent involvement is key. I would refer Jen Branchini to anyone who is looking for a speech pathologist, but especially for those who have a child on the spectrum or with behavioral issues.

Jen Branchini has been AMAZING with our toddler. He started working with her for an expressive language delay right after he turned two – he was struggling to even approximate words, and was not stringing any words/sounds together. Within a few months of working with her, his language had exploded – and he had “graduated” from speech therapy completely before the 6 month mark.

He adored Jen and looked forward to their time together (he’d ask for her throughout the week, and still does!). She was fun, kind, and flexible with him – no small feat, since his toddler mood was often counterproductive during their sessions! She offered me invaluable advice and coaching so that I could better support our son’s language development day-to-day, and did so in a way that felt accessible, doable, and nonjudgmental. Further, she was quick to tell me once she thought he no longer needed weekly – and then eventually even monthly – therapy with her.
